Short Bio:
Juan Fernández-Recio is PhD in Chemistry (1999), from the University of Zaragoza. In 1999, he joined The Scripps Research Institute (La Jolla, CA, US) as Research Associate, and in 2003 he moved to the University of Cambridge (UK) as a postdoctoral Marie Curie fellow. In 2004 he joined the Institute of Biomedical Research at the Barcelona Science Park (PCB) as Ramón y Cajal researcher, and in 2007, he got a position as Group Leader at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC). In 2017 he became Tenured Scientist of the Spanish Research Council (CSIC), working first at the Institute of Molecular Biology of Barcelona (IBMB), and moving in 2019 at the Institute of Grapevine and Wine Sciences (ICVV), where he is leading a research group in Structural Bioinformatics, focused to the study of molecular recognition of biomedical and biotechnological interest. He has published 144 scientific publications, with over 6550 citations (H-index 50), and 8 book chapters, has given 18 invited conferences, and 167 communications to scientific meetings (47 as invited speaker), and has supervised 12 PhD theses.
