Short Bio

Javier Blecua holds a degree in Physics from the University of Zaragoza (1995). After several years in the private sector, he returned to academia in 2019. In 2021, he completed a Master’s in Bioinformatics and Biostatistics (Open University of Catalonia (UOC) / University of Barcelona (UB)), with his master’s thesis focusing on the modeling of infectious disease propagation for its application to the study of COVID-19 evolution. Since late 2021, he has been a PhD candidate in Mathematics and Computation at the University of La Rioja (LogroƱo), conducting his research at the Institute of Grapevine and Wine Sciences (ICVV-CSIC) in LogroƱo. His current work centers on applying statistical and machine learning methods to analyze and model biological processes.
